Lesley Wolfe
is one of our local Cabot girls and has been a missionary with New Tribes.
She had been serving for over eight years in a little Glaro village in the
bush of the Ivory Coast of Africa, spending years developing her
language and relational skills. She
had written and prepared reading and training materials in the Glaro
language and had begun her work in establishing Bible study lessons and
translations. A translation draft of the book of Genesis into the Glaro
language was completed in July of 2004. Subsequently, serious civil unrest
occurred in he Ivory Coast and NTM decided to shut down the mission work in
the country in definitely in late 2004.
During an interim period Lesley served on the teaching staff at the New
Tribes Mission's Language School in Camdenton, Missouri. Much to her
delight, she was able to return to the Ivory Coast and to the Glaro in
February of 2008 to pick up where she left off. Amy and Aaron Speitelsbach
are new NTM missionaries (currently in language school) who visited Lesley
and the Glaro in April of 2008 and who will be joining her in the work in
the fall of 2008.
