Bible Church Praise Team
What is worship?
Worship is communion with God, in which believers, by grace, center their mind’s
attention and their heart’s affection on the Lord, humbly glorifying God in
response to His greatness and His Word. —Bruce Leafblad
The Heart of Worship
- Knowing God
- Communing with God
- Acknowledging the worth of God
- Experiencing the presence of God
- Committing to the will of God
- Obeying the Word of God
We believe that for worship to take place, God reveals
Himself to us and we respond to that revelation (Isaiah 6:1-8).
As we
respond to His Word, music and singing are vital aspects of worship and key
avenues of praise to our living God. In the services at Bible Church, we desire
that our worship music reflect the intent of our hearts—which is to continually
(not just on Sunday) offer up a sacrifice of praise to Him who is worthy of our
devotion (Hebrews 13:15). It has been said that many Christians worship their
work, work at their play, and play at their worship. It is our sincere desire
that the members of our Body practice worship individually on a daily basis, and
regularly as a family, in a Home Group, and in the corporate worship celebration
on each Lord’s Day.
What is the
“worship style” at Bible Church?
The
worship style at Bible Church is a blend of the best of traditional hymns
combined with contemporary praise and worship songs and choruses to create a
worship celebration that is enjoyable and relevant. Our instrumentation is
primarily keyboard-driven; and the congregation is led in worship by a Praise
Team. We desire that our music reflect the intent of our hearts—which is to
continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God.
To know Christ is our goal and desire in the
Worship/Music Ministry at Bible Church.
To make Him visible by
praising Him, proclaiming Him, and
practicing His presence is our purpose. We would be
delighted for you to add your voice to ours as we “speak to one another with
psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs—singing and making music in our hearts to the
Lord.”
